Using your favourite story ideas you will learn the telescopic story creation method, advancing from a short logline to a blurb, a synopsis, an outline, and finally into a fully developed story. About the presenter:
Christy Jordan-Fenton is the author of four award-winning and bestselling books about her Inuvialuk mother (in-law) Margaret Olemaun Pokiak-Fenton and her time attending a high Arctic Residential School in the high Arctic during the 1940s: FATTY LEGS, A STRANGER AT HOME, WHEN I WAS EIGHT, and NOT MY GIRL.
Christy’s poetry, short stories, and creative nonfiction have appeared in literary magazines and anthologies since she was 17. Some of these publications include Water~Stone Review, Quills, Prairie Fire, Jones Ave, and on the Best of American Poetry Blog. She was recently shortlisted for the Manitoba Writers’ Guild short fiction contest.
As a professional touring storyteller, Christy facilitates creative writing and storytelling workshops to more than one hundred K-12 and adult audiences a year. She lives in Fort St John, BC, the territory of the Dane-zaa.
