Having experienced the financial and emotional impact of publishing scams before ultimately finding a legitimate publisher, Jennifer brings both authenticity and practical insight to this topic. This session would speak directly to writers at every stage of their journey, helping them better understand how fraudulent companies operate, how to identify warning signs early, and how to make more informed, confident decisions as they pursue publication.
Attendees will take away: a clearer understanding of how publishing scams target writers and exploit industry ambitions; Key warning signs and red flags that can help writers avoid costly missteps; Insight into common deceptive practices, including fraudulent companies presenting themselves as agents or publishing professionals; and practical resources, trusted contacts, and online tools writers can use to verify opportunities and protect their work

Make sure to bring pen/pencils, notebooks, laptops, or whatever […]
